2、America Beautiful was formed to address the issue of an increasingly littered landscape.Keep America Beautiful launched what became a 20-year public service advertising(PSA)campaign reaching tens of millions of Americans.In 1960,we began collaborating with the Ad Council,initially using the characte
3、r Susie Spotless to promote anti-littering efforts with taglines like“Every litter bit hurts”and“Dont be a litterbug.”Through the 1960s,the Keep America Beautiful message ofbeautification and cleanliness reached across America and,on Earth Day in 1971,Keep America Beautiful unveiled the“People Start
4、 Pollution,People Can Stop It”PSA.The award-winning“Crying Indian”PSA,featuring the actor Iron Eyes Cody paddling through polluted waters and shedding his iconic tear,is often credited for the awakening of our nations environmental consciousness.The history of Keep America Beautiful and the legacy o
