2、oscope and a telescope to help them identify near-term threats while spotting long-term opportunities.This tension across time horizons is a recurring theme in PwCs 29th Global CEO Survey,based on responses from 4,454 chief executives across 95 countries and territories.Intheyearahead,CEOsseeaworldb
3、esetbychallenges.Theyvegrownsignificantlylessconfidentabouttheshort-termgrowthoutlookfortheircompaniesandmoreworriedaboutarangeofthreats,includingmacroeconomicvolatility,cyberrisk,andgeopoliticalconflict.Atthesametime,theyrefocusingonmultiyearopportunitiestoreinventthebusiness.CEOsareforgingaheadwit
4、hinvestmentinAIeventhoughimmediatereturnsareoftenelusive.Theyreprioritisinginnovation.Andmanyareenteringnewsectorsastheyleanintoareconfiguration of industriesthatsreshapingtheglobaleconomy.Importantly,CEOsmovingfastonthesedimensionsofreinventionareoutperformingtheirpeers.Amongthekeyfindingsfromthisy
5、earssurvey:MostCEOssaytheircompaniesarentyetseeingafinancialreturnfrominvestmentsinAI.Althoughclosetoathird(30%)reportincreasedrevenuefromAIinthelast12monthsandaquarter(26%)areseeinglowercosts,morethanhalf(56%)saytheyverealisedneitherrevenuenorcostbenefits.CEOsareseekinggrowthopportunitiesoutsideoft
6、heirsectors.Morethan40%saytheircompanieshavestartedtocompeteinnewsectorsinthelastfiveyears.Amongthoseplanninglargeacquisitionsoverthenextthreeyears,fourintenexpecttododealsinothersectorsorindustries.Comparedtolastyear,CEOsarelessconfidentabouttheircompanysnear-termrevenuegrowthprospects.Only30%areve
